Remove object from photo

Circle the thing that should not be in the picture, a bin, a cable, a sign, a stray toy, and it is drawn out with the background rebuilt behind it. The photo below is loaded with a circle already on it: press Generate to see it work, then use your own photo.

Remove an object by circling it, or by naming it

Two photos, two ways. Use this photo loads the photo, the marks and the words into the tool above.

Circle the object

A bin in front of a cathedral, gone with one ring

In this street photo there is a green bin right beside a parked scooter. We drew one ring around the bin and wrote one line. The bin and its post were removed and the cobbles were drawn in where they had been. The scooter touching it, the two people walking behind and the woman in the red jacket were not touched, and the ring is not in the result. A circle is the clearest way to point at one thing among several. 12 seconds.

PromptRemove the green bin I circled. Keep everything else exactly the same.

Name the objects

A tidy floor: cable, power strip and toy truck

In this living room photo, made with GPT Image 2.6 for this test, a power strip with a tangle of cable and a toy truck sit on the oak floor. We named the three things and said what must stay. All three were removed, the wood grain of the floor continued where they had been, and the sofa, the throw, the plant and the window light were the same. When the objects are easy to name, words are enough. 13 seconds.

Tips for removing an object cleanly

Draw the ring a little larger than the object so its shadow and its edges are inside it.

Say what must stay. "Keep everything else exactly the same" keeps the model from changing the parts you did not mark.

Objects in front of a simple background (a wall, a floor, grass, sky) come out best, because the model has a clear pattern to continue. A busy background, such as a crowd or a pattern with fine lines, may need a second pass.

One object per mark: use a separate ring for each, up to forty marks on one photo.

Only edit photos you own or have the right to edit.

How to use it

Three steps, no install.

  1. Add your photo

Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP. Photos are checked, then deleted about a day after you upload them. Up to 5 photos can go into one edit.

  2. Circle the object, or say what to remove

Press Draw to edit under the photo and circle, point at or scribble over the object. Then write one line, for example "Remove the one I circled". You can also skip the drawing and just describe it in words.

  3. Download the result

Press Generate. About 15 to 25 seconds later the picture appears under the tool and stays in My images for 30 days. If a trace is left, circle it again and run it on the result.

Remove object from photo questions

How do I remove an object from a photo?

Upload the photo, press Draw to edit and circle the object, then write one line such as "Remove the object I circled" and press Generate. About 15 seconds later the object is gone and the background is filled in. You can also skip the drawing and name the object in words.

Does the circle show up in the result?

No. The editor tells the model that the red marks only show where to edit. In our tests the ring was not in the picture.

Can I remove more than one object?

Yes. Draw a ring or a scribble on each, or name them all in the sentence. In our test three objects went in one run.

How much does it cost?

5 credits a photo at 1K. New accounts get 5 free credits, enough for one photo. After that, credits come in one-time packs from $4.99, never expire, and there is no subscription. A photo that fails costs nothing.

Does it change the rest of the photo?

The model redraws the whole picture, so check faces and fine details. In our two tests everything we did not mark stayed the same. If something moved, run it again.

What if it leaves a mark or a ghost?

Press Edit this result, circle what is left and run it again. Turning Mode to Careful, at the same price, can help on busy backgrounds.

Which model does it use?

GPT Image 2.6 Flare by OpenAI, the model that reads the marks you draw. It is selected for you.

Is this the official GPT Image 2.6 site?

AI Photo Editor is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the company that makes the model; model names belong to their owners.
