Remove all the text, or only the part you circle

Both examples start from the same picture, made with GPT Image 2.6 for this test: a coffee and a croissant with a handwritten caption and an orange date stamp. Use this photo loads the picture, the marks and the words into the tool above.

Remove the date, keep the caption

We drew a ring around the orange date stamp in the corner and wrote one line. Only the date was removed: the marble underneath came back and the large handwritten caption "Sunday brunch" across the top stayed exactly where it was. When some text should stay and some should go, a circle says which. 15 seconds.

Remove the caption and the date stamp

With no drawing, we asked for the caption and the date stamp to go and for the coffee, the croissant and the table to stay. Both lines of text were removed and the blurred window, the chair and the marble came back behind where the lettering had been; the cup, the latte art and the pastry were unchanged. 18 seconds.

Tips for removing text cleanly

Circle the text with a little room around it. Large letters with a shadow or an outline need the ring around the shadow too.

Say what stays. "Keep everything else exactly the same" keeps the model from changing the parts you did not mark.

Text over a plain or blurred background (a wall, the sky, a table, an out-of-focus room) comes out best. Text across a detailed pattern may leave a faint trace; circle it and run it again on the result.

Remove text only from pictures you own or have the right to edit, such as your own photos with a date stamp, a caption you added or a screenshot of your own work. Do not use it to take watermarks or credits off other people's pictures.

How to use it

Three steps, no install.

  1. Add your photo

Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP. Photos are checked, then deleted about a day after you upload them. Up to 5 photos can go into one edit.

  2. Circle the text, or say what to remove

Press Draw to edit under the photo and circle, point at or scribble over the text. Then write one line, for example "Remove the one I circled". You can also skip the drawing and just describe it in words.

  3. Download the result

Press Generate. About 15 to 25 seconds later the picture appears under the tool and stays in My images for 30 days. If a trace is left, circle it again and run it on the result.

Remove text from image questions

How do I remove text from an image?

Upload the picture, press Draw to edit and circle the text, then write one line such as "Remove the text I circled" and press Generate. About 15 to 20 seconds later the text is gone and the background is rebuilt. You can also skip the drawing and say which text to remove.

Can I remove only some of the text?

Yes. Circle the part to remove and say what stays. In our test the date stamp went and the large caption stayed.

Can I remove a watermark?

Only from a picture you own or have the right to edit. We do not help take watermarks, credits or signatures off other people's work.

Does it work on screenshots and posters?

It works on any JPG, PNG or WebP. Text over a plain or soft background is removed cleanly; text over a detailed pattern may leave a faint trace you can circle again.

How much does it cost?

5 credits a picture at 1K. New accounts get 5 free credits, enough for one picture. After that, credits come in one-time packs from $4.99, never expire, and there is no subscription. A picture that fails costs nothing.

Does it change the rest of the picture?

The model redraws the whole picture, so check faces and fine details. In our two tests everything we did not mark stayed the same. If something moved, run it again.

Which model does it use?

GPT Image 2.6 Flare by OpenAI, the model that reads the marks you draw. It is selected for you.

Is this the official GPT Image 2.6 site?

AI Photo Editor is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the company that makes the model; model names belong to their owners.
